Beanie starting to become naughty!

What’s new today? Oh well, just arrived from my regular OB visit at The Medical City, Trinoma. I’m on my 19th week now and the good news is my baby is getting better. No more contractions, thus I can stop taking Isoxsuprine now. Thank God!

During our visit, my husband and I had a good time as our baby becomes a bit naughty.  My OB regularly checks the heart beat of my baby but today is something different (for me) so I really have to document this precious moment. We had a hard time finding Beanie in my womb! Beanie may be hiding somewhere in my womb thus we’re not able to hear the heart beat at first; so I was really nervous. All of a sudden, Beanie kicked the Doppler (a device used for checking baby’s heart beat) as it gets near. That was soooo cute!

I wish I could see Beanie now through an ultrasound so I can identify my baby’s gender as well. Unfortunately, my OB advised me to have it by February 2013 instead to increase chances of getting more accurate result.  So for the mean time, I have to wait patiently for the right time and take my multivitamins religiously.

Waiting kills me, to be honest! LMAO!

BOTTOM'S UP: Stretch mark prevention for New Year!

Look what I got for Christmas! My friend Marga gave me Bottom’s Up from Island Basics, a light treatment cream that prevents and reduces stretch marks.

BOTTOM'S UP for stretch-mark free belly :)
I immediately use it last night (and will definitely continue regular use after bath and before bed time to prevent stretch marks especially that my belly starts to expand now.) Just like a lotion, it immediately made my skin softer.  I love its sweet and light scent.  It actually smells like melon. Aside from using it on belly area, I also tried using it on my feet. I have this wrinkled, rough, dark spot near my left ankle; no ordinary lotion soften that area despite regular use, but Bottom’s Up amazingly works perfectly! Hopefully after regular use, the skin becomes more softer and lighter.

What I like most about this product is that, it’s CHEMICAL-FREE. It has all natural ingredients such as Shea butter, cocoa butter, honey, VCO, castor oil, extracts of papaya, seaweed, barberry and tea tree, peppermint oil, floral essential oils and Vitamin E. Absolutely NO PARABEN!

My First Maternity Clothes

Just arrived from SM North Edsa and look what I’ve got – some cheap but fashionable maternity clothes! I am now on my fourth month and this is actually my first maternity clothes. My baby bump is now getting bigger and more noticeable so I have to switch from my normal wardrobe to a more preggy-comfy stuff J

At the Department Store, I was drooling about cool and cute maternity clothes around me. But I choose those that I am really comfortable wearing, and the ones that I can use until such time that I gave birth. Since I am a working mom-to-be, I picked two slacks and two dresses that I can use at the office. I only bought 4 items since I am not yet sure about my body size after a month or two, so this is just a trial and error thingy for me.  Another factor that I considered is the style. Slacks and dresses won’t go out of style for sure.

A perfect timing that “Mother Care” have this on-sale maternity dresses which I got for only 300 each. I personally picked these dresses because I know that after giving birth I can still wear them.. I also bought pair of pants (around P800 each) that has pouch on the tummy area (it’s stretchable and adjustable too!) so as my tummy grows, the slacks would expand too J well, I guess I can still use these until I reached my 9th month and prolly after giving birth too.

I know I’ll be buying more maternity clothes in the next few months, but for the mean time, I have to observe first how my body changes so I will not be wasting money for buying maternity clothes that I would immediately outgrown with.

The adjustable waistband.

It's not noticeable since it's placed underneath the waist area of the pants.

The tummy pouch ;) It's stretchable and has soft fabric.

OMG, I'm Pregnant!

December 22, 2012, Friday

I was already on my second month when I discovered that I am pregnant. I have PCOS (poly cystic ovarian syndrome), thus, missing a period doesn't alarmed me at all. I wasn't able to finish my medication to treat PCOS too, since I've been through different personal problems. But nothing is impossible with God; He finally blessed me with an angel.

I was totally shaking right after I get the result of my home pregnancy test. It was mixed emotions: happy, nervous, scared, I don’t know, the only thing I was thinking that time was “OMG! Is this for real?” LOL! Right after getting the result, my husband and I rushed at Healthway SM North EDSA The Block, to finally get my first check-up. At first, everything seems okay, the OB gave me Natalbes (Multi-vitamins) and Folic Card (Folic Acid) and advised me to take two glasses of Anmum a day. She also requested me to take few laboratory tests like Transvaginal Ultrasound (TVU), urinalysis and CBC. The TVU was totally awkward and a bit painful; but after seeing my baby on the monitor and hearing the heartbeat, the feeling was priceless! On that same day, I immediately gave a pet name to my baby – Beanie, because the unborn baby on my womb looks like a small bean.

Meet Beanie at 9 weeks and 5 days

After few days, I returned to get the result of the tests, urinalysis and CBC is fine, but the TVU was not okay. I had hemorrhage, so the doctor advised me to have 7 days bed rest. I guess the hemorrhage was due to frequent riding a motorcycle during the time that I am unaware that I am pregnant or maybe because I slipped down the stairs a month before I discovered that I am pregnant.

Thank God that after the 7-day bed rest, I felt better and was able to get back to work.
